Yes - Public liability Insurance is included automatically under Gallagher Cottagesure for a limit of indemnity of £2m. A higher limit of £5m is also available.
Yes, Employers Liability is automatically included up to a £10m limit.
The Gallagher Cottagesure policy can cover a wide range of leisure facilities including swimming pools, hot tubs, play areas, gymnasium equipment & trampolines. Please remember to tell us!

Yes, the property must be inspected both internally and externally every 14 days by you or a representative on your behalf.
Yes, between the months of October and March if the property is unoccupied for longer than 14 consecutive days you are required to maintain a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius.
Alternatively, you may turn off the water at the stop cock and drain the water system
There are no general security conditions that apply to the policy, but in the event of your particular risk being subject to security terms you will be advised accordingly.
You are required to insure for the full reinstatement value of your property including removal of debris and architects fees. This figure may have been advised by a surveyor at purchase and index linked annually thereafter, but a useful online check can be accessed via this link.
Yes, the Gallagher Cottagesure policy covers loss of rental income following damage to the property plus a range of extensions including denial of access and failure of utilities up to £150,000 for a period of 12 months. Higher limits and indemnity periods are available upon request.
Yes, the standard policy excess is £250 increasing to £400 in respect of escape of water claims and £1,000 in respect of subsidence and landslip. The standard excess may be increased to £500 or £1,000 for a premium discount.

Yes, we can arrange a separate home insurance policy to run alongside the Gallagher Cottagesure policy.
There are no specific policy conditions relating to swimming pools but RSA have issued a guidance document available to download here.
Yes but the presence of a trampoline attracts a small additional premium so always remember to tell us. Failure to do so may result in a claim being turned down.
Yes, Grade II listed properties are insurable.
You are required to insure the full value of your contents to replace as new. This would include all furniture, furnishings, carpets, entertainment equipment etc. Please note that in respect of paintings and works of art the limit is £1,500 per item and a total of £5,000 per property. Yes, the Gallagher Cottagesure product is suitable for both commercially let holiday properties and private holiday homes.

Yes, credit agreement payment terms are available – please contact us for further information.
We work with third party credit providers (which may include the insurer of your insurance policy) to manage instalment payments. We act as a credit broker and we are not a lender. If you have opted to pay by monthly direct debit, we will pass your details to the provider and they will make a credit decision about you, which may include a credit check being carried out. Please let us know immediately if you do not consent to us sharing your details with the provider. If the credit provider company agrees to provide you with credit it will provide you with its own set of terms, conditions and charges and you should familiarise yourself with these carefully. We may receive a commission for introducing you to the provider.
If you decide to change to a long term assured shorthold tenancy agreement we can continue until renewal of the policy and then offer a more suitable contract. If the property is unoccupied or pending sale, please let us know.

No, Gallagher Cottagesure is only available for properties in the UK. Please do contact the team for a separate quotation under an Overseas Property policy.
We will need your written instructions by post or email to cancel a policy, but please discuss your new requirements with us in advance.
To help prevent fraud - before requesting your bank details to provide you with a refund by phone, we will always validate with you information that we hold on file; information that only you would know. This information could include your address or specific policy details. Any refund we provide will only be for one of three reasons: overpaid funds, a reduction in your cover, or cancellation. If you receive a phone call and are unsure it is from us you can always call us back on 0800 038 9732 to verify we are who we say we are. Gallagher also will not ask you for other forms of sensitive information, such as passwords, usernames or a mother’s maiden name.
